GOing Online – all the world includes the internet

Ever considered online as a mission field? GOing online as one of the ways we “go into all the world.”

“Going into all the world” is more than a mission trip, being a missionary overseas, and serving where you live and already are in life. It also includes the internet.

5 ways/places we can GO online –

  1. Twitter/Facebook – Update your status with – scripture, invite followers to join you at physical or online church services, song lyrics, ..
  2. Blog – What do you blog about? Do you ever blog about God or what he is doing in your life?
  3. Chat rooms – Your words and actions should reflect who you are. Especially if you’re a Christian watch your words, would the others in the room know you have Jesus in your life by how you are talking and acting? For one on one chat systems such as Skype, Facebook, Google, and Yahoo you can use these places to talk or be a listening ear for friends. Also a great place to pray with a friend one on one.
  4. Church Online Attend, volunteer, participate. People come to Church Online from all over the world, we are reaching people from all over. Be a part of what God is doing online.
  5. Email – Know a friend or someone who needs to hear about Jesus? You can use email to tell, start a conversation about God, as a way to let them nonverbally share their story, etc.

GOing into all the world includes the internet. Being in the 21st century we can easily reach and chat with people around the world through all of the above. How are you GOing online? What ways/places did I miss?

GOing ..into the harvest field.. – 3 responsibilities we have as Christians

GOing into all the world. We are called to GO, across the nation, online, and right where we are at. This morning at my home church we learned about Missions and the harvest field. The notes and message were helpful to me and I think you could benefit from them as well.

“Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (Matthew 9:35-38)

  • *”When you become a Christian you become a missionary.”
  • “We are called to GO.”*

As Christians we have some responsibilities.  Here are three.

  1. *”Visualize – See the harvest. Recognize that not everyone is saved. We need to see that the harvest is just waiting to be harvested. We will never reap until we first enter the field.
  2. Agonize – “Ask the Lord of the harvest”.. KJV says “Pray”. We are called to snatch them “out of the fire.”
  3. Evangelize – It isn’t enough to see the need, or is it enough to pray for the lost and be concerned for their souls. Jesus calls everyone into the saving business. Tell someone today.

An old hymn used to say “you bring the one next to you, and I’ll bring the one next to me and in no time at all we’ll have them all; so win them, win them, one by one.”*

Who do you need to tell or invite today? Go to a neighbor, make a phone call, or get online (FB, Twitter, email, etc).

Philippians 2:5-11

Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

October is..

What comes to mind when you think about October? Do you think of colorful leaves, cooler and shorter days, pumpkins, and halloween? That is what I think of.

Being that it’s the beginning of October I googled it and learned that October is much more.

Did you know that October is –

What is October to you? What did I miss?
