Learn JavaScript for Free with Codecademy

Recently I stumbled upon a new area of interest thanks to a friends post on Facebook. I’ve been interested in learning code (also known as JavaScript) for awhile now so when I saw that there was a way to learn it online, in a fun way, for free I jumped at the opportunity.

Codecademy is the way to go.

– 5 Modules

– Each module broken down into several sections.

– Sections broken down into several fairly easy exercises.

The sections and work are challenging but at the same time it is a lot of fun.

Learning JavaScript through Codecademy allows you to go at your own pace. You can zoom right through the sections and exercises all in one sitting (1-2hrs) or you can do one section or exercise at a time and come back later. Picking up wherever you left off is one of the great features.

Another great thing is that they make it fun and interactive. You receive Achievement badges every so often. You can choose to login with Facebook so you don’t have to create yet another account. There are options to practice what you’re learning and to receive help from users who came before you when you’re struggling with an exercise. And, you get points.

Codecademy has been one of the things I’ve been working on the last few days. It’s been a lot of fun, still have yet to finish module 2 on functions, and if you’re looking for a great free way to learn JavaScript I highly recommend this option. I’m headed back now to work on more coding so if you’re interested in learning you are welcome to join me!

What do you like about JavaScript? Do you know it or are you interested in learning? Have you heard about Codecademy?
