Praying for Tucson, AR and Jarod Loughton

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. – 2 Chronicles 7:14

A few days ago while talking with a friend about the shooting’s that happened in Arizona, the idea was brought up to look at this in a whole different light. This guy, Jared Lee Loughton probably isn’t a Christian. He could die for what he did and if he doesn’t know Christ he’ll go to hell. Now most are probably thinking that he deserves to go to hell for what he did, and that is true, but God died for everyone including Jared so that all of us can have life nomatter what we have done.

Instead of looking at this situation and hating him for what he did, going along with the government and seeing the bad side of things and fighting about it, what if we did something different? It’s time to pray. Praying for Jared to know Jesus, for peace and healing for all who are hurting and that the government would seek God about this.

If we are truly “One Nation Under God” then God should be first in all situations including this one. “To reach people no one is reaching we’ve got to do things no one is doing (Craig Groeschel).” It’s time to fall on our knees and do something different than the rest of the world. It’s time to look at the inside of these peoples hearts and pray for them.

I’m ready to put God first in this situation, look at it in a new way, and do something not many are doing and pray for Jarod, AZ, hurting families, and the government. Will you join me?
