Celebrating Our Freedom on Independence Day

Today we celebrate our freedom. We celebrate that we are a free country, a country where we can live and worship God without fear of being killed. This freedom didn’t just happen overnight though, our men fought for it.

On Memorial Day we remember those who fight and died so we can live in a free country. On Independence Day we celebrate our freedom.

“Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord..His truth is marching on.” –Battle Hymn of the Republic

“O Beautiful for spacious skies for amber waves of grain..America, America God shed His grace on thee, and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea..” –America the Beautiful

So today and whenever you celebrate Independence Day remember that it’s not just about the family, picnics, and fireworks, but also about God and celebrating that we are free to worship Him.

Our fathers' God, to thee,
	author of liberty, to thee we sing;
	long may our land be bright
	with freedom's holy light;
	protect us by thy might, great God, our King." (My Country, vs4)
